Join us for our updated 2026 Intro to SFX Makeup Workshop — a hands-on class designed for artists, creatives, makeup lovers, and anyone curious about the world of Special Effects Makeup.
In this immersive workshop, you’ll learn professional techniques used to create realistic bruises, cuts, scratches, wounds, aging effects, and more. Students will work with materials like gelatin and other SFX products while learning how to build texture, dimension, and believable detail for film, photography, Halloween, content creation, and creative artistry.
Whether you're brand new to SFX or already experienced in makeup, this class is beginner-friendly while still packed with techniques that will challenge and inspire you creatively.
The class is taught by industry professional Rick Bongiovanni, whose work has appeared in major productions including Godzilla, Wild Wild West, and Snow Dogs. Rick brings real industry knowledge, hands-on demonstrations, and years of experience working in film and special effects makeup.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn the techniques behind realistic SFX makeup, this is your chance to step into a completely different side of artistry.
MAKEUP KIT AND TOOLS: We will have products, tools and supplies that can be used in class. You may bring what you have if you have a special effects makeup kit. SFX Kits can be purchased separately at our store.
MODELS: Students will have the opportunity to practice on themselves and other students in the class. No model is needed for class.
Cancellation Policy: Tickets are refundable up-to 2 weeks before the class date. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable after the 2 week mark. Students that request to cancel with less than 2 weeks until class or no-show for class will not receive a refund or transfer to another class.
If the class is canceled by the host, you will receive a full refund for your purchased ticket(s).
